The booking sheets are open and the Camp is opening on the 1st May 2018. We are offering overnight site inspections from mid-April for those of you coming out to the trade shows over that time.
Verney’s Camp is situated in the central eastern part of the Hwange National Park, on a private concession of 10 000 hectare’s deep within the park. The camp is comprised of 10 luxury tents, two of which are family tents. The camp holds a maximum of 24 guests. Pilot and guide accommodation is also available as is a private vehicle option.
Verney’s Camp will be built in the classical Machaba style with large spacious tents on wooden decks, pathways meandering through the teak forest beneath which the camp resides. The main areas and fireside overlook a large waterhole, typical of Hwange National Park. This waterhole teems with wildlife in the drier months. Gamedrives and walks with armed rangers will be the standard offering with night drives and stargazing in the evenings.
We are offering free transfers from Hwange Main Camp to Verney’s Camp, for those driving in or been driven in. For those flying, access is via the Manga airstrip, which is a short drive of 30 minutes away from camp – if there are no elephants crossing the way. Verney’s Camp can be ideally combined with visits of the other Machaba Camps in the east of the Okavango Delta – Machabe Main , Little Machaba, Gomoti Plains – , or with a stay at Victoria Falls and is by this way part of attractive itineraries for a dreamlike safari (download the Machaba Safaris Map here).
Get your bookings in now while we still have space. Bookings can be made through the usual Machaba Safaris channels via Wendy and reservations of Machaba Safaris. We look forward to hosting your guests at Camp and look forward to you all visiting us personally. Requests for inspections can be sent to Hella Göbel.
